Using a balloon, a methane-air mixture is pushed into a 1.6m tall tube spiral. The gas is then ignited at the bottom. Flames travel up the spiral hose, becoming very quick as they reach the top.
How does it work?
The methane-air mixture is highly flammable. However the heat must spread itself out, in order to ignite the gas everywhere. The speed of the reaction depends on the variation in the mixture of the gases
